Your Top Organic Shampoo Brands,
All Have Aloe Vera In It!

Why use organic shampoo brands...?

There is a heightened awareness towards what we are putting inside our bodies. So it would come as no surprise to know that what we put on our hair, also matters.

Throughout time, civilizations have tended to their precious locks with the best ingredients they could get hold of- not much is different from today!

Here are the 5 steps to getting the right organic shampoo, for you.

Step 1) Make sure its the right shampoo for your hair type...Read the label on the bottle.

Step 2) READ the ingredients list carefully to make sure you know what you are putting on your hair.

Step 3) Purchase a shampoo with as less chemicals in it as possible. The best place to find different organic shampoo brands is on line or from your local health shop.

Step 4) Trial them out... Expect to try a few different brands before you find the perfect one that is made for your hair.

Step 5) Don't just fall for the word 'Organic'...! Just because a shampoo says its organic, it does not mean that all the ingredients in it are organic. Different countries have different standards to call a product organic. ALWAYS READ THE PACKAGING.

Today we are going back to basics. We are letting quality natural organic ingredients clean, shine, create volume, to help give us the hair we want. This is without us having to use nasty chemicals and poisons!

Look at the back of the label of many non organic shampoo brands and conditioners. You can barely decipher what long unpronounceable chemical ingredient names are in these shampoos.

Many, if not most of them are no good for you. Did you know that most countries do not have a regulating body for what ingredients companies can put in skin care, or hair care products?? How crazy is that?

You could be and probably are, putting harsh chemicals straight onto your scalp which is being absorbed into the body causing all types of side effects: hair loss, allergies, irritations, hormone imbalance to name a few!

Definition of Organic (From the Oxford Dictionary)

(Of food or farming methods) produced or involving production without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial chemicals.

Here are a few common shampoo ingredients that you should stay away from:

  • Sodium lauryl sulfate
  • Ammonium lauryl sulfate
  • Derivatives of lauryl alcohol
  • Myreth sulfate
  • Propylene glycol (also known as antifreeze)
  • Olefin sulfonate (deodorized kerosene)

Most organic shampoo brands will not have these nasty chemicals in them.

Polly's 1st Choice - Alba Botanica Hawaiian Shampoo ( Gloss Boss Honeydew)

Ok, I know I know, Alba Botanica is not officially an organic shampoo brand. It might as well be.

It have 6 organic ingredients in it which is more organic ingredients than a number of certified organic shampoo brands. Even though I love organic products this shampoo is one of my favourite shampoo's.

It leaves your hair feeling really clean without that ‘stripped dry feeling’, lathers well,  leaves a great shine  and my hair is easy to manage! I can brush it wet and it detangles itself PLUS is smells great too!!

As you can see there are plenty of safe, organic shampoo brands that also have our favorite product in it, ‘Aloe vera’!!!

If you have tried an amazing shampoo with Aloe vera in it, please contact us and let us know. We love hearing about new organic shampoo brands, and any cool Aloe vera products out there in the market ;o)
