Use an Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn Treatment - It really is the best for your Skin!
Using an Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn Treatment, is the best for sunburnt skin… I know, that’s a big call to make… How can I make that claim…..? Well that’s easy…. Just take a look at how many sunburn treatment products have Aloe Vera in it….?
They nearly all use the gel from the Aloe Vera plant, and that is because it’s a sunburn treatment miracle ingredient…..!
Here is the Best Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn Treatment!
Here it is... This is the best natural, Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn treatment recipe I have found........so far :).
First things first.
Mix fresh Aloe gel (2/3rds) with cucumber juice (1/3rd), and a couple of opened vitamin E capsules.
If you don’t like the smell of the Aloe, place one or two drops of essential oil (of your choice) to make it smell nice.
Chill the ingredients beforehand and mix ingredients in a blender. Then place it over the sunburned areas, and reapply every 3-4 hours or as needed.
Another one is to freeze Aloe gel as ice blocks. As they melt they sooth. Remember you would only use this for very minor sunburn (do not place ice directly onto bad sunburn).
What ever Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn treatment you choose to use make sure it has lots of Aloe Vera in it, as it really does help with healing sunburn.
Some More Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn Treatment Ideas.
Drink Loads of water… get hydrated and stay hydrated. If you have spent enough time in the sun to get sunburn, you probably have also been in the sun long enough to get dehydrated.
Cool down the area that is sunburn… either have a cool bath or shower, or apply a cool compress.
Be mindful about using products like soap on the affected area. This may cause irritation and more pain…. Ouch!
Pop in and see your local pharmacist / Drug Store to get a soothing sunburn treatment. Some of the Aloe Vera gels and aftersuns are a great sunburn treatment, as they will sooth your sunburn area. Some of these act as a moisturizer. Remember you want to re-hydrate your skin after it becomes sunburned.
Make sure you read the packaging…. You want a really decent supply of Aloe Vera gel in the mix.
Get a Spray sunburn treatment. Its less painful to apply on the skin than having to rub it on by hand ☺
Try and cover blisters with a clean non stick dressing… be mindful blisters get infected very easily so keep them clean. If you are concerned go see a doctor. Don’t mess round with infected blisters. Also don’t pop them.
Moisturizing your skin generally does not stop your skin from peeling.
Old Wives Tale- Don’t use Butter for a sunburn treatment.
Over the counter pain relief is good if it's really painful.
Stay away from the sun….. No sun baking until you're healed and don’t look like a cooked lobster anymore ☺
If your skin is peeling, don’t pick at it….. remove skin gently if it has already come off. Put Aloe Vera gel or an antiseptic over the fresh skin patches to help reduce infection.
Which Aloe Vera Sunburn Solution Should I Use?
I have been asked, ‘What’s better'? Using a bought Aloe Vera sunburn treatment that you can buy in a bottle, or using Natural Aloe gel, fresh from the leaf of the plant?
From my experiences, I would always recommend you use Aloe gel straight from the source of the plant for a sunburn treatment, if you can.
The reason being is that the unrefined natural elements of the plant haven’t potentially been degraded or neutralized through a refining process.
Another point to consider….using the natural gel direct from the leaf is a more sustainable option than using an over the counter Aloe Vera sun burn product. Normally they have been processed and packaged in some sort of plastic container.
I myself have used a multitude of processed, store bought aftersuns, and sunburn treatment products. Some of these are really effective and helpful if you have sunburn. Some have been pretty bad and ineffective.
An advantage of a bought sunburn treatment, is when there is a large surface area of sunburn. Normally, it’s easier to use a bottled aftersun to cover these larger areas.
There is also the fact that it lasts longer than raw Aloe gel, as it's normally stabilised when it is processed.
Another benefit is there is no mess and it can be on hand at all times.
Over summer (or when on holiday), keep an Aloe Vera Gel Sunburn Treatment Aftersun in your fridge, until you need to use it ☺.
